Job summary

Engine by Starling is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and run cloud foundations for our banking platform across regions and cloud providers. You will focus on observable, reliable, and secure systems, enabling our engineering teams to innovate rapidly.

You’ll drive infrastructure projects end-to-end, contribute to security and compliance, and mentor teammates while operating in a hybrid working model with in-person collaboration when needed.

Qualifications

Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, IAM and VPC Service Controls.
Experience writing Terraform code and applying infrastructure as code practices.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
Designing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure with security-by-design principles.

Responsibilities

Design, document, build and maintain scalable infrastructure on GCP.
Ensure performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness of cloud environments.
Lead complex infrastructure projects from inception to production.
Write technical docs and host training sessions for the team.
Lead by example and set high technical standards.
