Job summary

Engine by Starling seeks a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and run cloud foundations for a cloud-native banking platform deployed globally across regions and providers. You will work on scalable infrastructure, automation and secure operations in a fast-paced fintech environment.

You will lead critical projects, implement IaC, ensure compliance with security standards, and share knowledge through documentation and training.

Qualifications

• Experience with GCP multi-region disaster recovery.
• Proficiency in Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong security-by-design mindset and PKI/key management.
• Experience with Kubernetes (GKE) and cloud identity tools.
• Ability to write RFCs and ADRs to document architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, build and maintain scalable infrastructure on GCP.
• Ensure performance and reliability of cloud environments.
• Embrace automation and avoid manual implementations.
• Build systems with security by design as a core foundation.
• Design and operate key/secret management (KMS/Secret Manager).
• Lead complex infrastructure projects end-to-end.
• Write technical runbooks and provide team training.
