Job summary
Engine by Starling seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and run cloud foundations on a global scale. You will enable secure, observable platforms across regions using GCP and Terraform, focusing on automation and reliability.
The role offers hybrid working with strong collaboration across teams and a commitment to cutting-edge fintech infrastructure. You will lead automation, ensure compliance with ISO 27001/SOC 2/PCI DSS, and mentor others while delivering high-availability
Qualifications
- Proven GCP multi-region disaster recovery experience.
- Bootstrapping Google Cloud Organisations with enterprise policies.
- Experience with GCP services including GKE, Compute Engine, IAM and VPC Service Controls.
- Terraform code written in a clean, modular way.
- SOA with containers, distributed systems and immutable infra.
- Key/secret management on GCP with KMS, EKM and Secret Manager.
Responsibilities
- Design, document, build and maintain scalable infra on GCP across regions.
- Ensure performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness of cloud environments.
- Automate processes; minimize manual work.
- Build security-by-design foundations and maintain compliance with standards.
- Lead complex infrastructure projects from inception to production.
- Write RFCs/ADRs and runbooks; share knowledge and train team.
