Specification Sales Manager – Architectural Aluminium

Industry Sector: Architects, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Government and Educational Institutions, Main Contractors, Aluminium Fabricators, Curtain Walling, Windows & Doors, Window Walling, Architectural Hardware, Solar Shading, Natural Ventilation, and Rainscreen Cladding.

Area to be Covered: North London to Lincolnshire.

Remuneration: £55,000-£65,000 net + 10%-20% bonus.

Role Description

The Specification Sales Manager focuses on field sales for our range of architectural aluminium systems. Your responsibilities include building specifications, nurturing key accounts, and driving new business.

• Field sales position selling our client‑designed, extruded, and distributed range of curtain walling, high performance windows & doors, window walling, architectural hardware, solar shading, and natural ventilation applications; and passing rainscreen cladding projects to a dedicated field sales specification team.
• Majority of your time influencing architects to win specifications for façade, window, and glazing applications.
• Managing relationships with 12‑15 key aluminium fabricators, checking availability for projects, and monitoring compliance.
• Targeting commercial projects—predominantly education/schools, but also healthcare, retail, office, and select high‑end residential projects.
• Achieving a specification revenue target of approximately £1.8 m.
• Project sizes typically around £75 k metal (aluminium) value but can vary from £2 k to £500 k.
• Inheriting a £12 m project bank (largest area in the country) and focusing on new business development versus converting existing projects.
• Conducting a couple of CPD s per month once established.
• Chasing leads from Glenigan, fabricators, and subcontractors, and project‑managing the specification through the tendering process to metal order and project completion.
