We are seeking a Speciality Doctor to join the expanding Medicine for the Elderly team within Dr Gray’s Hospital. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for medicine for the elderly and highly motivated in providing high quality care.

In addition to providing inpatient care in Dr Gray’s Hospital, we aim to provide collaborative care with GPs in the three community hospitals across Moray and with regular multidisciplinary meetings established with GP practices within Moray. The aim is to provide proactive, accessible care in order to promote wellbeing and minimise unnecessary hospital admission.

This post will have a role within Dr Gray’s Hospital on Ward 7 and potentially the community/outpatients depending on the skill set of the applicant. We review outpatients in clinic and on home visits. There are opportunities to develop services in any area of subspecialist interest you may have including Frailty at the Front Door, Acute Inpatient Care, Orthogeriatrics and Surgical Liaison, Movement Disorders, Community Hospital Rehabilitation, alternative to admission, Stroke Medicine and community care models.

The current Geriatric team are happy to adapt to accommodate the needs and interests of any applicant. Our ambition is to provide a resilient service across community, front door and inpatient settings. We can support flexible and less than full time working. As we develop our frailty pathways.

The main inpatient base is in Ward 7 Dr Gray’s Hospital. The unit is supported by Nurse Practitioners and Resident Doctors, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Social Work teams. Out of hours it is supported by the on‑call medical team.

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post). For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org
