A leading healthcare provider in Bolton is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine. This exciting role requires knowledge in Emergency Medicine and the ability to provide clinical support in various areas of the ED. Candidates will have opportunities for professional development, including study leave and involvement in quality improvement initiatives. The role also involves acting as clinician in charge during specific shifts, overseeing early career doctors and managing incident responses.
This post is designed for an ST4+ level trainee or equivalent in Emergency medicine.
Clinical responsibilities will be equivalent to those of a trainee at the same stage of training and will be expected to work in adult, paediatric and minor injuries areas of the ED. The candidate should have the skills and experience necessary to perform the "clinician in charge" role overnight, with support from a consultant on call who can be called for advice and attend if needed. They should be able to provide clinical advice and support to early career doctors and those new to the specialty.
The rota will include 4 hours per week of self-development time to complete non-clinical tasks needed for continued professional development such as quality improvement activities and teaching. Study leave will also be provided for courses and conferences.
Dedicated time for supporting professional activities such as managing incidents and complaints, supervising other doctors or teaching can be negotiated depending on the needs of the department and skills of the candidate.
