Job summary

A leading healthcare organization in Biggleswade is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry. You will work under guidance and provide crucial support for mental health care within a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of clinical psychiatry experience and is fully registered with the General Medical Council. Qualifications

Job description

This post would be ideally suited for a doctor, who has a minimum of 2 years experience in clinical psychiatry practice, and is interested working in a specialty doctor position in psychiatry outside of a Training position

A successful candidate would have the option of continuing ongoing work in a specialty doctor position, or considering the option of applying for Specialty Training in Psychiatry in the future.

Analternative career path would be progression as a specialty doctor and with the possibility of gaining a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) via Article 14 route once required experience can be evidenced in the future.

The post-holder will work under the supervision of a consultant psychiatrist and will be integral to amultidisciplinary team, accessing local CPD activities as appropriate.

Qualifications
  • Medical graduation
  • Fully registered with the General Medical Council
  • Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification (in accordance with Royal College of Psychiatrists guidelines)
  • Approval under Section 12(2) of Mental Health Act 1983, or plan to gain approval within 6 months of appointment.
Knowledge and Experience
  • At least 2 years experience of psychiatry clinical practice post medical qualification
  • Appreciation and social and cultural factors of relevant to psychiatric practice
  • Experience of and commitment to clinical care of individuals with severe and enduring mental health conditions
  • Experience of clinical work in Acute Adult Psychiatry
  • Experience of Quality Improvement projects & Clinical Audit
  • Good working knowledge and experience of the application of the Mental Health Act
