Job description

The appointment is to the Partnership Trust-wide Sexual Health Service, and you will be expected to further strengthen service elements of the Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire Sexual Health service.

You will need to demonstrate adequate clinical experience in sexual health service provision and meet the person specification for the Specialty Grade.

There will be an opportunity to apply or develop a special interest to augment and expand on current services.

You should have experience in the management and prevention of STIs within a specialist service and hold the Diploma of the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DCSRH).

The role will need to support development of spoke services as well as evening service provision. Strong team-working skills and an interest in training, education and service development are essential.

Main duties of the job

In addition to providing clinical care, the post holder will have opportunities to support, train, supervise, assess and mentor other clinical staff in the service, including West Midlands GUM specialist registrars, GP resident doctors and nursing staff as well as contribute to the undergraduate Sexual Health teaching programme through Keele University.

Contribution to departmental research, audit and clinical governance is expected.

The post holder will be responsible for keeping up to date with patient and non-patient related administration.

Clinical Duties:

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
  • Holds Diploma of the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DCSRH)
Qualifications
  • Holds LOCs IUT and SDI and STIF intermediate (or willingness to undertake early in post)
  • Evidence of qualification or meaningful intention to prioritise early in post
