Job description

Overview

The primary role is to join the Anaesthetic Team covering elective theatres, obstetric anaesthetics, with on‑call commitments. We are looking for a Speciality Doctor in Anaesthetics who has considerable experience, an understanding of clinical governance and a passion for patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide anaesthetic support across seven main theatres, three day‑surgery theatres and two maternity theatres.
• Integrate within the team of existing staff to deliver a complete Anaesthetics Service.
• Participate in services available seven days a week at Orsett and Basildon sites, including A&E, X‑ray, Cardiology and ECT.
• Support day‑unit feeding into main theatres and collaborate with colleagues in A&E, X‑ray and Cardiology.

Qualifications

• Speciality Doctor in Anaesthetics with considerable experience.
• Awareness of clinical governance, understanding of patient safety and a passion for patient care.
• Capability to support the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) Application process by the General Medical Council.
