Job summary

Serco Limited is seeking a Specialist Progression Coach in the Confident Futures team to support unemployed participants with long-term health conditions, disabilities, or mental health challenges to overcome barriers to employment and secure sustainable work.

The role is field-based with remote and on-site working across Herefordshire, Shropshire, and Worcestershire, with a 15-month fixed-term contract and a 37.5-hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching or supporting individuals to achieve positive outcomes.
• Understanding challenges faced by people with disabilities or long-term health conditions.
• Ability to build trust and relationships with participants, employers, colleagues, and external partners.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied caseload.
• Excellent communication skills and passion for helping people gain employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of participants, providing tailored coaching and support throughout their employment journey.
• Complete holistic needs assessments and develop personalised support plans reflecting individual goals, circumstances, and needs.
• Identify barriers to employment and connect participants with health, wellbeing, training, community, and specialist support services.
• Deliver one-to-one coaching, including CV support, job searching, interview preparation, and confidence-building activities.
• Build relationships with local employers to identify inclusive employment opportunities and support participants into suitable roles.
• Promote positive health and wellbeing outcomes while ensuring services are delivered in line with contract requirements and quality standards.
