An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part timeSpecialist Physiotherapist to join the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at the Manchester Royal Infirmary.

You will be part of a dynamic, well-established multidisciplinary team, working alongside a Clinical Lead, experienced Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Rehabilitation Assistants. Our team is committed to delivering a holistic approach to patient care, ensuring high-quality outcomes for patients in line with SSNAP standards.

This Band 6 role offers the chance to contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and the education of students and junior staff, while continuing your own professional development.

Main duties of the job

Provide specialist assessment and rehabilitation of stroke patients on the unit at the Manchester Royal Infirmary.

Supervise and support junior and unregistered staff, ensuring high standards of care.

Act as a clinical mentor for undergraduate physiotherapy students.

Lead and participate in service development projects, including audits and quality improvement programs.

Contribute to the Trust's7-day service.

  • Working knowledge of local and national policies and procedures e.g. Manual Handling, Chartered Society of Physiotherapists/Health and Care Professions Council Code of Conduct/Ethics, Health and Safety, Infection Control, CPR, Equality and Diversity
  • Evidence of Continual Professional Development
  • Experience of and commitment to interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary team working
  • Experience of supervision of students and assistants
  • Evidence of contribution to clinical education and in-service training of less experienced staff/students and assistants
  • Understanding of clinical effectiveness and its implications for services including experience of quality issues, audit and evidence based practice
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safeguarding practices relevant to the clinical area
  • To have attended a clinical educators course
  • Previous experience in a post at this level
  • Knowledge of the working of community and Intermediate Care Services
  • Evidence of participation in research
