Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an aspirational and motivated individual to work within the Emergency Department Pharmacy Team. Pharmacy is seen as a key resource in the within our Emergency Department. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic pharmacist to work alongside the Lead Emergency Department Pharmacist.

The department has a strong commitment to advancing pharmacy practice and embedding effective medicines management systems into patient care and is now looking to appoint a dynamic individual with good organisational and communication skills who is keen to be involved in the development of the clinical service provided to all patients who attend the Emergency Department. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will provide a comprehensive and high-quality clinical service.

Responsibilities
  • Play an influential role in the patient's care pathway while building upon proven clinical skills.
  • Provide clinical experience and exposure to develop generalist and specialist skills, as well as leadership, management, education, quality improvement and research opportunities.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to promote clinical and cost-effective prescribing through evidence-based guidelines.
  • Develop, audit and monitor Medicines Management processes within the service alongside the Lead Pharmacist for the Emergency Department.
  • Provide training and supervision to departmental staff.
  • Support the ongoing development of the clinical service within the Emergency Department.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience of working within a clinical environment.
  • Completed a post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy (essential).
  • Evidence of multi-disciplinary teamwork would be advantageous.
  • Prescribing qualification or willingness to work towards one (desirable).
  • Well-developed communication and leadership skills.

  • Training and support will be provided. A commitment to continuing professional development is essential.
