Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist who demonstrates a high level of neuro-rehabilitation and communication skills within a multidisciplinary environment and wants to develop and specialise in the area of neurological rehabilitation.

Daniels Rehabilitation Unit is a 16 bedded in-patient specialist Neuro-rehabilitation Unit which is part of the Hillingdon Specialist Rehabilitation Service with the Alderbourne Unit at Hillingdon Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Gain experience in providing specialist OT for patients with a variety of neurological conditions and complexity including acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury.
  • Work within an established multidisciplinary neurological therapy team and develop close links with social services and other agencies.
  • Have excellent opportunities to develop your skills in physical and cognitive rehabilitation, specialist seating and complex case management.
  • Have opportunities to contribute to the service development.
Qualifications
  • Have HCPC registration and post graduate experience in physical health.
  • Have NHS experience at minimum Band 5 level, including rotations within neurological rehabilitation or experience treating stroke patients and other neurological conditions.
  • Are hardworking, adaptable, possess high-level communications skills, initiative and resilience.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork skills.
  • Car driver desirable.

Our integrated therapy service is committed to continuing your professional development (CPD) alongside providing high quality patient care. You will be given regular support, training, clinical supervision and will participate in in-house training sessions. You will also have opportunity to developing your supervision and leadership skills, supported by the Therapy team lead.
