Responsibilities
  • Work closely with other agencies and professionals and provide consultation when required.
  • Provide teaching and training to others.
  • Manage own time and plan a range of complex activities, balancing client needs with other requirements of the post.
  • Have a thorough understanding of consent to treatment issues and effectively demonstrate analysis that leads to clinical judgment in client notes.
  • Carry out initial specialist triage assessments of children and their families using the appropriate assessment tools, with an emphasis on risk assessment and risk management.
  • Plan and develop a programme of care.
  • Provide telephone consultation delivering brief, solution-focused interventions when appropriate.
  • Evaluate the needs of individual clients and their carers in accordance with agreed protocols of care and based on best available evidence.
  • Provide written and verbal reports.
  • Be aware of the special expertise of different disciplines within the service in order to provide the most appropriate help for service users, through consultation and/or active involvement of a worker from a different discipline.
Requirements
  • Welsh language skills are desirable: speaking and listening at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Fluency is not required.
  • Applicants who are not UK or Republic of Ireland nationals will require sponsorship to obtain a Health and Care Visa or a Skilled Worker Visa, unless they already hold permission to work via another route.
  • Prospective applicants should self-assess their eligibility for sponsorship by visiting the UK Government’s Work in the UK guidance.
  • Applications are welcome in either Welsh or English.
