Sous Chef - A role with Variety £33,000 plus bonus

We're on the lookout for a positive, hands-on person to join our catering team and help us deliver great food and fantastic service across a range of exciting events. From busy race days and conferences to our clubhouse, cafés, restaurants, and private hospitality, no two days are ever the same!

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be part of a friendly, hard-working team that takes pride in creating great experiences for our guests. You’ll play an active role in the day-to-day running of the operation, helping to keep everything running smoothly and to the highest standard.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Take part in weekly team and event planning meetings.
  • Keep an eye on food production and waste levels to make sure we're working efficiently.
  • Make sure food safety and allergen information is always accurate and up to date.
  • Follow all opening, closing, and cleaning procedures.
  • Keep your work area clean, tidy, and organised.
  • Be proactive — spot what needs doing and help make it happen.
In the Kitchen
  • Prepare and present food to the company's high standards.
  • Follow menus and production plans as set by the senior chefs.
  • Stick to all food safety, health, and hygiene procedures.
  • Help manage stock and storage correctly.
  • Lend a hand to the front-of-house team during service when needed.
Working with the Team
  • Keep good communication flowing between the kitchen, front of house, and other departments.
  • Work with the stores and kitchen teams to move food safely and efficiently around the site.
  • Step up to run the kitchen when the senior chef isn’t available.
  • Complete daily food safety and hygiene checks.
  • Make sure the service team has all the allergen information and menu details before service.
