Overview

Aramark UK are currently recruiting for a Sous Chef to join our team at Regents Park Barracks, NW1 4AL. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the shifts when the Head Chef is not present, producing up to 1000 meals at a time. You will be well organized and able to work well under pressure.

To be eligible for this role, you must have been a UK resident for the past 5 years, have the legal right to work in the UK, and be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.

Responsibilities
  • Run shifts and guide the team when the Head Chef is not present, producing up to 1000 meals at a time.
  • Lead a team of 6, organise and support the team to ensure a smooth operation daily, and allocate tasks to maximise efficiency.
  • Produce food in line with recipe sheets and have full knowledge of all menu items served, including allergen information.
  • Manage production and food levels to minimise wastage; place orders and keep records of stock wastage; receive deliveries and store correctly using FIFO method.
  • Carry out deep cleans daily/weekly with the team and ensure all staff are trained for their sections and required training is undertaken.

  • Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 including weekends. Shifts between 6:30am and 8:30pm.

A day in the life of a Sous Chef
  • Run shifts and guide the team when the Head Chef is not present, maintaining organisation and thriving under pressure.
  • Manage a team of 6 and ensure a smooth daily operation.
  • Organise and support the team to allocate tasks effectively and utilise time well.
  • Ensure food is produced in line with recipe sheets and allergen information is known.
  • Oversee stock management, ordering, and recordkeeping for wastage; receive deliveries and apply FIFO.
  • Perform daily/weekly deep cleans with the team and ensure relevant training is completed.
Qualifications
  • Must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years and have the right to work.
  • Must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
  • Relevant culinary qualification and at least 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP.
  • A trade test will be required for the interview.
