Job Overview

As a BMI Solution Owner, you are accountable for key decision‑making on solution designs within the BMI Procurement process. You ensure business requirements are met while supporting the overall objectives for BMI business and adhering to industry best practices. You champion standardisation and simplification of solutions, bridging business requirements and technical solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Accountabilities
  • Solution Design
    • Develop comprehensive and fit‑for‑purpose solution designs.
    • Collaborate with Global Process Owners to gather, analyze, and understand business requirements and supporting processes.
    • Translate business requirements into effective solutions, assess cost implications, and document complete impact.
    • Ensure fit‑with‑standard, scalability, flexibility, and future growth, and validate quality through testing outcomes.
  • System Architecture
    • Define and implement an optimised system architecture.
    • Plan the system landscape with performance, security, and integration considerations.
    • Align architecture with industry best practices, BMI standards, and Enterprise Architecture.
    • Evaluate and select cost‑effective technologies in collaboration with global process owners.
  • Integration with Existing Systems
    • Collaborate with architects, developers, and integration teams to design interfaces and end‑to‑end integration.
    • Identify and resolve integration challenges to maintain data flow and business process continuity.
  • Project Delivery
    • Support delivery of projects to time, quality, and budget.
    • Participate in project planning to cover solution activities and realistic timelines.
    • Collaborate with 3rd‑party delivery partners and project managers to align builds with requirements and mitigate risks.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of solution architecture and configurations.
  • Performance Optimisation
    • Regularly assess system performance and identify optimisation opportunities.
    • Optimize configurations and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure quality, security, and reliability through rigorous testing and validation.
    • Conduct system assessments and reviews to identify and address potential issues.
    • Collaborate with testing teams to validate implementations against requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement and BAU
    • Stay informed on solution updates, new releases, and emerging technologies.
    • Evaluate and recommend opportunities for enhancing the BMI landscape.
    • Work with BAU partners and service managers to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
    • Drive resolution of priority tickets and escalations to achieve service level targets.
  • Clear Communication with Stakeholders
    • Communicate technical concepts and decisions to GPOs and non‑technical stakeholders.
    • Provide regular updates on solution developments and status.
Key Stakeholders

This role reports to the Head of Enterprise Applications and interacts regularly with ITLT members, GPOs, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experiences Required
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years as an SAP (process area) Solution Architect.
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP technologies, including S/4HANA and relevant functional areas.
  • Strong technical skills in SAP architecture, configuration, and customization.
  • Proficiency in solution design and system architecture aligned with business goals, scalability, and industry best practices.
  • Strong understanding of SAP integration technologies, data migration, and system landscape design.
  • Leadership and communication skills with cross‑functional teamwork.
  • SAP certification (e.g., SAP MM, SAP SRM, VIM) is a plus.
