Solution Architect / Digital Systems Lead

Consumer Products / Light Manufacturing

Contract | 6 month Initial Term (Outside IR35)

SS50

A fast-growing, UK-wide consumer products business is seeking a hands‑on Digital Systems Lead to drive the development of a new self‑service customer platform and connect it seamlessly with internal operational systems.

This organisation designs, manufactures, and installs premium home‑improvement products, and is now investing heavily in digitising the customer journey—from online configuration and ordering through to field sales, scheduling, and installation. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how customers and internal teams interact with the business.

What you’ll be working on
  • Building a self‑serve digital front‑end for customers, integrating online configuration, ordering, and tracking.
  • Connecting the front‑end to an order‑management and workflow system tied into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Ensuring field sales teams and installation crews have smooth access to connected systems for real‑time data, scheduling, and updates.
  • Working closely with leadership and operational teams to modernise processes and improve customer experience end‑to‑end.
What we’re looking for
  • Experience working within small to medium‑sized businesses where you wear multiple hats.
  • Background in digital self‑service or consumer‑facing digital products.
  • Understanding of order management, inventory control, and materials workflows, ideally in consumer products or small‑scale manufacturing.
  • Comfortable spending some time on‑site in the North of England to understand operations and collaborate with teams.
  • Strong familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem, especially Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Someone practical, hands‑on, and excited to build and implement systems—not just manage them.

If you’re driven by improving digital customer experiences and modernising operational systems in a real, tangible business, this role offers the chance to make a major impact.
