Job summary

A leading energy engineering firm in England is seeking an experienced Solar PV O&M Engineer to maintain and optimize solar PV assets across the UK. In this role, you will conduct maintenance and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards while working on high-profile renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications in Electrical Installations and several years of experience in solar PV systems. Competitive compensation and travel opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years' experience in solar PV installation, operation, and maintenance.
  • Experience with AC/DC systems, inverters, fault diagnosis.
  • Familiarity with monitoring platforms such as SolarEdge or Hark.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance on PV installations.
  • Conduct detailed inspections of PV modules and electrical components.
  • Perform AC/DC electrical testing and diagnose faults.
  • Monitor system performance and prepare detailed maintenance logs.

What We’re Looking For
Relevant Qualifications
  • Level 3 City & Guilds / NVQ in Electrical Installations (or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations

Experience

The Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled Solar PV O&M Engineer to join the team, supporting the ongoing operation and maintenance of client‑owned solar PV assets across the UK. You will ensure systems are safe, efficient and fully compliant with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance on commercial and ground‑mounted PV installations.
  • Conduct detailed inspections of PV modules, inverters, mounting structures and electrical components.
  • Perform AC/DC electrical testing, thermographic surveys and torque checks.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults across PV systems efficiently.
  • Monitor system performance via solar monitoring platforms, assessing yield, availability and efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed maintenance logs, reports and technical recommendations.
  • Ensure all work adheres to health, safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact between clients, subcontractors and project teams.
