Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the role of Social Work - Senior Practitioner within the Children's Specialist Support Team in Bracknell. Responsibilities
  • Work as a member of the Social Care Team, delivering a care management service that ensures children’s voices are heard.
  • Operate within the framework of relevant legislation and departmental policies and guidelines.
  • Advocate for the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
  • Manage a caseload with assessment, care planning, intervention, and family support.
  • Assess and identify the needs of referred children and families; design service delivery plans to meet these needs.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies (voluntary and statutory) to coordinate services aligned with care plans.
  • Participate in a team duty rota to address child protection concerns.
  • Prioritise workload and manage tasks effectively; engage in regular supervision with the Supervisor to set objectives and strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate casework; notify the Supervisor of resource shortfalls as needed.
  • Maintain accurate case records and comply with procedures, ensuring information security.
  • Encourage listening to children, document and act on their views, and complete life journey work with children and young people.
  • Work towards ASPIRE priorities: timeliness, smart planning, purposeful family visits, impactful assessments, reflective supervision, and consistent child engagement.
  • Ensure access to translation and interpretation services where necessary.
  • Contribute to service development by participating in team meetings; provide cover for team members and perform additional duties as required based on experience and competencies.
  • Support the development of others through training and coaching; assist in the assessment and support of students, newly qualified social workers, and Family Workers; provide purposeful, reflective supervision to social work students and Family Workers.
  • Work with families facing higher levels of need and complexity.
Qualifications
  • BSc/MA in Social Work or equivalent, with Social Work England Registration (or currently in process).
