A local authority in Stockport is looking for a dedicated Social Worker to join their Connected Carers Team. The role involves supervising kinship foster carers, conducting various assessments, and providing training and support. Stockport’s Fostering Service seeks to deliver a highly professional service to both carers and Stockport’s cared for children and young people.
The Connected Carers Team provides support and supervision to both Kinship foster carers and other kinship carers including Special Guardians. The team also undertakes assessments which includes Viability Assessments, Regulation 24 Assessments and Form K Assessments (kinship assessments) which includes court directed Kinship Assessments and SGO Assessments.
We are recruiting one full time and one part time permanent Social Worker to join the team. This post will the upon completing assessments.
Other tasks include: post order SGO support, the delivery of kinship carer training and facilitating support groups. All of the social workers within the service undertake the task of duty, which is on a rota basis. This will include regulation 24 assessments and viability assessments. There are opportunities to become involved in a range of other service developments. You will work closely with kinship foster carers, other kinship carers, social work and legal colleagues and professionals from other agencies.
You will have a Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
You will have social work experience and some experience of fostering, kinship and SGO experience.
The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
You will receive regular supervision and training and development opportunities are provided for all staff.
