Cheng International Co. Ltd is a trading company mainly engaged in the importing and exporting of high-end Chinese Baijiu/yellow wine in the UK.

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and creative Social Media Assistant to support the Media team across social media content production and editorial output. The Media team focuses on the international promotion of Chinese Baijiu, supporting its market entry into the UK and encouraging its integration into local bar culture and everyday alcohol consumption.

Working closely with the media team, this role will support video content production, long-form editorial delivery, and the ongoing development of our key platforms: Instagram, WeChat Official Account, and Xiaohongshu (Red Note).

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in social media video creation, strong bilingual (English–Chinese) writing skills, and an interest in media, cultural marketing, or international brand communication. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cross-cultural storytelling within a collaborative media environment.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Video Content Support

• Support the planning and execution of social media video content, including pre-production coordination (e.g. locations, scripts, props, and on-site setup).


• Assist with on-site filming and ensure smooth coordination during production.


• Contribute to improving video production workflows, content quality, and efficiency.


• Support basic post-production tasks as required.

Editorial & Written Content

• Support the creation and editing of long-form written content, particularly for the WeChat Official Account, ensuring a professional and brand-aligned tone of voice.


• Assist with maintaining consistent editorial standards and clear brand positioning.


• Support basic layout, formatting, and visual presentation of WeChat articles, including image selection and simple visual design.


• Produce assigned written content under editorial guidance.


• Support content research, fact-checking, and topic development.

Team Collaboration & Content Coordination

• Work closely with team members to ensure alignment across video, social, and editorial content.


• Support content scheduling and timely delivery across platforms.


• Provide on-site support for offline events and projects, assisting with pre-event preparation, on-site execution, and post-event follow-up to ensure effective team collaboration.

Person Specification

Essential

• Experience in social media video content creation (planning, filming, or coordination).


• Basic working knowledge of content creation and editing software, including Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and CapCut, with the ability to use these tools for everyday content production tasks.


• Strong written communication skills in both English and Chinese.


• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content formats.


• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks.

Desirable

• Experience managing or contributing to a WeChat Official Account.


• Background in journalism, media studies, communications, or related fields.


• Understanding of content strategy or digital storytelling.


• Experience with filming equipment and content production tools, with a basic understanding of professional commercial photography, including composition, lighting, and visual quality standards.
