A private client in Swansea seeks a compassionate and patient Personal Assistant for a four-year-old child with Autism. The assistant will help with outings in the community, ensuring the child's safety at all times. Experience working with children with Autism is essential, alongside a drive to take the child on trips. A kind demeanor and the ability to keep up with energetic behavior are required. A trial period will be part of the role, and a DBS check is mandatory.
Please note this is not a Swansea city council job. You will be working with a private client who received direct payments.
A little about myself: I am a four-year-old little boy with Autism and Pica behaviours. I like to jump, bounce, climb, swim and run around. I really love the water, so swimming is one of my favourites. I love Buzz trampoline park, soft play and gymnastics.
I need a kind, patient, and fast-on-their-feet Personal Assistant (PA) to take me out to have fun where I can be safe. I also love to go on drives where I can look out at the people and places, and daydream. I particularly like the beach and the sea. I have no awareness of danger, so you will need to always hold my hand unless we are in a safe, secure area.
Driver required to take me out.
Hours of work: 4 hours per week during school holidays.
Rate of pay: £13.13.
A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six‑month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
