Job description

We are seeking a proactive and hands‑on Site Services Engineer to support the wider site operations. This is a varied role requiring both mechanical and electrical expertise, working closely with multiple functions across the site to ensure utilities and services operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out maintenance, fault‑finding, and repairs on site services and utilities.
  • Support mechanical and electrical systems across the site.
  • Perform root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain and service pumps, water systems, and pipework.
  • Manage steam systems, including pressure‑reducing valves (PRVs).
  • Carry out water treatment testing and ensure compliance with L8 requirements.
  • Support refrigeration and air handling systems.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards, including PSSR and LOLER.
  • Maintain safe operation of steam boilers and associated equipment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to support site performance.
Qualifications
  • Mechanical or Electrical qualification to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • BOAS or City & Guilds Steam Boiler training (essential).
  • Knowledge of utilities systems and statutory compliance.
  • Experience in maintenance of pumps, pipework, and water systems.
  • Water treatment testing experience (L8 qualification preferred).
  • Experience with refrigeration and air handling systems.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with experience in root cause analysis.
  • Food industry or FMCG experience desirable but not essential.
