As part of an international group, we are also a market leader in the manufacture and distribution of engineering thermoplastics.

We are now looking for a Site QHSE Manager to join our team in Bridgwater. This role is a key leadership position within the site, responsible for ensuring full compliance with our business management systems and quality, health and safety, and environmental standards. This includes maintaining and auditing our business management system, ensuring compliance with standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100 and ISO 13485, and promoting a proactive health and safety culture throughout the business.

Your role will be highly visible, requiring you to engage with all departments from Production, Sales and Finance to Human Resources – to promote cross-functional teamwork and continuous improvement. • Act as the primary site contact for health, safety, and environmental matters, driving a proactive approach to compliance and risk management.

  • Lead the site’s QHSE team, carrying out regular check-ins, supporting development, and managing performance.

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of KPIs and compliance data to the business.

  • Manage all internal and external audits, ensuring non-conformances are appropriately actioned and closed.

  • Oversee customer and supplier quality interactions, working to resolve issues and strengthen relationships.

  • Support the development of policies and procedures and ensure standardisation of processes across sites.

  • Promote and lead health and safety initiatives, ensuring risk assessments, accident investigations, and regulatory requirements are met.

  • Ensure GDPR compliance in relation to personal data handling within the business.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a QHSE management role within aerospace, medical, or precision engineering sectors.

  • Strong understanding of ISO standards and quality tools such as SPC, PFMEA, PPAP, 8D, and Lean principles.

  • A hands-on leader with experience managing people and working cross-functionally.

  • Confident in dealing with customers, suppliers, and regulators on compliance matters.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with business management systems.

  • A proactive attitude with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels.

  • Flexibility to meet business needs, particularly during key audits or customer visits.
