Job Title: Site & Facilities Professional

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your turer about the options for this particular role

Salary: £47,271 + depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:
  • Developing and delivering the scope of work for SSNA plant, equipment, and strategic machining facilities
  • Aligning scope tubing, schedules, and installation activities with the construction build programme
  • Developing technical specifications and supporting procurement, tendering, and European supplier engagement
  • Managing programme funding, cost accounts, and delivery through to installation and handover
  • Coordinating site works in compliance with CDM regulations
  • Managing and engaging internal stakeholders, principal contractors, and the supply chain
Essential:
  • CNC machining or equivalent trade background
  • Proven experience in producing detailed plant and equipment specifications to support ITT's (Invitation to Tender) processes and enable procurement funding approval
  • Experience in complex plant and equipment including civils and infrastructure
  • SQEP in Supply Chain contracting arrangements for site works, including NEC (New engineering contracts), cost account management, and capital expenditure control
  • Experience managing CDM construction sites within an operational environment, ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations
  • Experience in stakeholder and subcontractor management, including leading multi-skilled trade teams
Desirable:
  • Proficient with Microsoft OfficeBackground in coordinating complex site works
  • Extensive experience of Submarine fabrication, manufacturing and outfit/build processes and equipment

The Site and Facilities Major Projects team:

This is a growing, high‑performing team of approximately 25 people, delivering a diverse range of plant, equipment, and facilities projects across the DN and SSNA programmes. The team is responsible for supplying remaining plant and equipment requirements, developing new facilities, and refurbishing existing assets as the programmes continue to expand. This role offers a wide variety of work, with extensive engagement across the business at multiple levels. You’ll be joining a proactive, highly experienced team with a strong depth of knowledge across site, offering excellent opportunities for learning, collaboration, and career growth. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
