Job summary

MCR Property Group in Bedford is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial and financial delivery on a flagship residential project. The role is site-based, reporting to the Construction Director and Commercial Director, with regular valuations and cost reporting across the project portfolio.

You will be responsible for procurement, cost plans, tendering, and final accounts, leveraging strong Excel/Word skills and a broad understanding of construction processes.

Qualifications

• Min 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor across various project types and values.
• Experience in a developer, main contractor or subcontractor environment.
• Proficiency in cost plans/estimates, measurement for BOQ, tendering/procurement, value engineering, tender reporting, interim valuations and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly cost reporting and financial forecasting.
• Manage contracts and subcontract packages; oversee variations.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and QS team on commercial strategy and financial control.
• Work with site teams; conduct valuations and project reviews as required by location.
