Job summary

MCR Property Group in Bedford is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to deliver commercial and financial outcomes on a flagship residential project. You will manage cost reporting, forecasts, and procurement from inception to final account, with a strong focus on value for money.

The role is primarily site based, requiring experience across pre- and post-contract stages, tendering, interim valuations, and final accounts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor across a range of project types and values.
• Experience within a developer, main contractor, or subcontractor environment and across pre- and post‑contract stages.
• Strong understanding of subcontract procurement processes and cost planning/tendering.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of monthly cost reporting and financial forecasting.
• Manage contract and subcontract packages and variations.
• Lead tendering, procurement, value engineering, and tender reporting.
• Handle interim valuations and final accounts.
• Support project managers and other surveyors to maintain budgets and programmes.
• Provide commercially sound solutions and prudent financial control on site.
