Job summary

MCR Property Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial and financial delivery on a Bedford-based project. You will own monthly cost reporting, forecasting, and management of contract and subcontract packages, ensuring schemes are delivered within budget and programme.

The role is largely site-based, with regular valuations and project reviews. You should have at least three years’ QS experience across varied projects, strong procurement knowledge, and a proven ability to work

Qualifications

Minimum of three years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor across diverse project types and values.
Experience in developer, main contractor or subcontractor environments.
Experience across pre- and post-contract stages; cost plans, BOQ measurement, tendering and procurement, value engineering, valuations and final accounts.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to negotiate with subcontractors and consultants.
Full, clean driving licence; fully computer literate with Excel/Word.

Responsibilities

Own monthly cost reporting and financial forecasting for projects.
Manage contract and subcontract packages and variations.
Collaborate with project managers and QS team; contribute to commercial strategy and controls.
Site-based duties with regular valuations and project reviews depending on location.
