Manpower are currently seeking an interim Shopper Marketing Manager, to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.
The position is based in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 12 months, requiring 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £65,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.
The role currently offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to adjustment based on business requirements.
Overview
The core purpose of this role is to lead the execution strategy, planning and evaluation of impactful shopper marketing campaigns with our retailers, spanning across all our business units. You will be accountable for the delivery of a clear retailer facing shopper activation plan which links to the BU strategy and key jobs to be done with a seamless connection to the full media plan. You will work closely with both your BU shopper leads and the customer account teams to leverage these plans with our retailers to drive impact and ultimately competitive growth.
Responsibilities
- As a Shopper Marketing (Retailer Execution) Manager, you will be externally facing and sit at the heart of the business, delivering an insight led retailer execution plan which builds Unilever brands in the retailer environment and influences shoppers at the point of purchase.
- This role will require you to build strong relationships with our retailers, agency partners, account teams and our BU shopper and brand partners.
- Work in an agile manner, prioritising efforts to meet key project deliverables across the Retailer execution team.
- Demonstrate team leadership by managing a team of Retail Execution executives and being part of the Retail Execution leadership team, ensuring priorities are defined and resources are allocated.
- Develop retailer shopper marketing programmes across BUs, aligned to the BU Strategy and Shopper JTBD across relevant channels and touchpoints to maximise visibility for Unilever.
- Lead end-to-end management of impactful shopper campaigns within the retailer from planning, execution and evaluation, anchored to brand and customer JTBD/priorities.
- Utilise store visits and retailer data and insights to create a bank of best practices for retailer/brand touchpoints based on campaign objectives.
- Lead and manage the retailer's Retail Execution Executives and the retailer's media group implant.
- Lead external communication with the retailer, representing the shopper and campaign plans in key external forums, including T2Ts.
- Lead and negotiate with the agency retail media JMP (BMG) to ensure aligned WOW principles and accountability to agreed standards.
- Define BU/Brand prioritisation of shopper campaigns across the retail execution team and align resources to deliver.
- Manage BMI/TMI shopper budgets for the retailer, forecasting and executing campaigns within agreed budgets.
- Ensure artwork meets unmissable POS standards and aligns with retailer guidelines, coordinating with BU shopper leads.
- Drive industry leading retail media capabilities with retailer agency BMG to deliver award winning activations.
Key Requirements
- Strong understanding of the UK retail landscape and how to ensure Unilever brands are visible and impactful at key shopper journey touchpoints.
- Excellent communication, strong project management skills, and experience in commercial and category/marketing roles.
- Experience in Retail Media (in-store and digital).
- Ability to build shopper-led campaigns that deliver against key JTBD.
- Team leadership including leading and delivering through others.
- Budget management experience.
