Job summary

A UK-based charity providing care is looking for a dedicated team leader to deliver person-centred care to residents in Malvern. The role requires leading a compassionate team, maintaining dignity and safety, and ensuring high standards of care for individuals, particularly those with dementia. Candidates should have experience in a similar role and hold a Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care. Qualifications

About Friends of the Elderly

Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not‑for‑profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, supporting older people for over 120 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for those in financial difficulty.

With a person‑focused approach to care, Davenham, Bradbury Court and Perrins House are picturesque homes situated in beautiful grounds in Malvern. Specialising in care for people with dementia, as well as residential and nursing care, we have a dedicated, well‑trained and compassionate team of staff on hand to ensure that Malvern feels like home.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver person‑centred care, unique to each individual, supporting residents to maintain key skills, personal interests, independence, choice and dignity, so that they can lead fulfilled lives.
  • Ensure residents are safe and comfortable, acting as a champion for their safety and dignity.
  • Lead the team in providing quality, individualised care in line with procedures and policies.
  • Maintain clear, accurate records and follow procedures for ordering, administering and dispensing medication.
  • Conduct supervisions and appraisals with staff and promote their development.
  • Maintain a safe, clean workplace, following infection control protocols.
  • Manage shift patterns that include evenings, weekends and some unsociable hours.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar role having previously led a team and administered medication.
  • Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care is essential; Level 3 diploma or higher is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of forming positive relationships with residents and effectively handing over information to colleagues.
  • Numeracy and digital skills, ability to problem‑solve, adapt to situations and recognise/report safeguarding concerns.
