Are you an experienced SHEQ professional with a passion for safety, quality, and environmental excellence in civil engineering? Our client, a well-established and highly respected civil engineering contractor, is seeking a SHEQ Advisor to ensure the highest standards across their projects.

About the Role

As the SHEQ Advisor, you will be a key part of the management team, responsible for implementing and monitoring Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality processes on civil engineering projects. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to maintain compliance, reduce risk, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ policies and procedures in line with legislation and industry best practice
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, producing reports and recommendations
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions for site teams
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, ISO standards, and environmental requirements
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams to achieve project-specific safety, environmental, and quality objectives
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across all sites
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years\' SHEQ experience in civils
  • NEBOSH qualification (General, Construction, or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations, risk assessment processes, and environmental management
  • Experience in conducting audits, inspections, and accident investigations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
