Job Title: Sheet Metal Engineer

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent

Contract: Permanent

Rate: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE

Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:30-16:00, Friday 07:30-15:00

Our Client is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Engineer to join their office-based engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the Southeast's leading steel contract manufacturers, supporting projects for Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models for sheet metal components and assemblies.
  • Prepare quotations, costings, and material estimations for new and existing projects.
  • Use ERP systems for job processing, routing, and BOM creation.
  • Liaise with sales, production, and purchasing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
  • Review customer specifications and ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical assistance to sales and production teams.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Engineer or similar role in fabrication/manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal processes (laser cutting, folding, welding, finishing).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Radan).
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent interpretation of technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
