Job summary

A leading construction contractor in the UK seeks a Site Engineer for an ongoing substation project. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering and a strong background in heavy civil engineering, ideally with Tier 1 Contractors. Responsibilities include setting out with surveying equipment, ensuring quality control, and maintaining safety standards on site. Excellent communication and record-keeping skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in Civil Engineering.
• Previous experience with Tier 1 Contractors is ideal.
• Strong background in heavy Civil Engineering required.

Responsibilities

• Set out with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations).
• Assist with quality control to meet design specifications.
• Manage permits for breaking ground and CAT scanning.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are met.
• Liaise with site team on material specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and site activities.
• Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD.

Job description

Fawkes and Reece are looking for a Site Engineer on an ongoing project on a Substation for a Tier 1 Contractor.

Candidates must have a heavy Civil Engineering background and a degree and ideally previous experience with Tier 1 Contractors.

Site Engineer duties include:

• Setting out with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)
• Assist with quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
• Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
• Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client's and business's requirement
• Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
• Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
• Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD
