Join us as a Service Technician - Warrington Area

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out routine servicing of lift/escalator equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, Expert+ etc).
  • Rectifying and reducing faults on lift/escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
  • Checking the lift/escalator function as part of maintenance, checks to include speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature and power supplies using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment.
  • Carrying out the routine inspection and adjustment of lift/escalator in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Reinstating lift/escalator and completing service documentation.
  • Carrying out more advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service. Competence is required to make effective use of written or graphical information.
  • Carrying out site surveys and attending all relevant training sessions to keep up to date on technical knowledge and skills.
  • Working in accordance with the company’s safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements, and setting a personal example of safe behaviour.
  • Contributing to the company safety objectives by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to its safety management system.
What you bring

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in lift/escalator servicing/maintenance/repairs preferred.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in lift/escalator maintenance or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work towards Schindler Certification Level 3 Red.
  • Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi-brand equipment.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and within efficiencies.
  • The ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
  • Good communication skills at different levels (client/service leader/inspectors).
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.
  • Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good administration skills and punctuality.
  • Full UK driving license.
