Acting on behalf of our client, we are recruiting a Service Manager to join a world‑renowned leader in the supply, installation and servicing of industrial generators.

With a strong reputation for engineering excellence, innovation and customer commitment, our client supports a diverse global customer base across sectors including healthcare, data centres, banking, utilities, manufacturing and government.

The Service Manager will take responsibility for planning, scheduling and coordinating service engineers across maintenance, remedial and breakdown activities. Working closely with in‑house Technical Contract Managers, the role focuses on operational coordination and customer delivery rather than hands‑on technical work. This is a full‑time, site‑based role in Rochester.

In this role, you will manage daily service schedules, coordinate engineer workloads, and act as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring service delivery meets safety, quality and contractual requirements. You will also contribute to continuous improvement, support team performance and help maintain strong client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and scheduling service engineers for maintenance and reactive works
  • Coordinating resources to meet service level agreements
  • Liaising with customers to provide updates and resolve issues
  • Supporting and managing a team of field‑based engineers
  • Working closely with Technical Contract Managers for technical guidance
  • Monitoring service performance and identifying improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and quality standards
  • Maintaining accurate records using job management systems
Qualifications
  • Experience in a service management, coordination or scheduling role
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with customers and internal teams
  • The ability to prioritise effectively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and job management systems
Advantageous
  • Experience within generators, engineering services or plant hire
  • Experience working alongside technical teams or contract managers
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience

You will be calm, professional and methodical in your approach, with strong problem‑solving ability, confidence in coordinating others, and a strong customer‑focused mindset.
