Job Overview

A vacancy has become available for a Band 3 Service Co‑ordinator – 12‑month secondment/fixed‑term contract for 37.5 hours per week at The Royal Oldham Hospital with some possible hybrid remote working after training completed and competencies reached.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for a range of administrative duties to support the service and management and will be required to work as part of a team in the Interpretation Department. You will be responsible for the allocation of interpreters for both face‑to‑face patients and telephone interpretation. You will be required to work as part of a team in the Interpretation Department.

You will be responsible for a range of administrative duties including the allocation of face‑to‑face and telephone appointments using substantive, bank and agency staff, allocating language interpreters, initiating 2‑ or 3‑way telephone interpretation calls, inputting OOHS usage, and supporting staff in whatever is required.

You will often be the first point of contact for incoming calls and queries from staff and patients. You will have clear communication and liaison skills and will require a high degree of organisational skills and excellent working knowledge of administrative systems. You will be responsible for managing and prioritising your own workload and will be required to use your own initiative.

You will receive appointments via the online interpreter booking system, Zipporah, email and telephone, to data‑input accurately those appointments and to ensure all communication is passed over to the relevant staff member. Patients’ calls are dealt with in accordance with the NCA Trust Values. You may be required to demonstrate flexibility and be able to cover a weekend shift at short notice. You will be confident in communication with clinicians and patients in a professional manner.
