A regional healthcare provider is looking for a Senior Orthopaedic Theatre Practitioner to join their new Kent and Medway Orthopaedic Centre team at Maidstone Hospital. This role involves working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care while supervising junior staff. Candidates should be newly qualified ODPs or development practitioners with relevant experience. Qualifications

Job description
Position Overview

The Senior Orthopaedic Theatre Practitioner will form part of the new Kent and Medway Orthopaedic Centre team at Maidstone Hospital. The Centre, which will open later this year, will provide a state‑of‑the‑art open‑plan laminar flow theatre suite and a 14‑bed inpatient ward alongside a 10‑bed day‑case ward. The role supports the Trust’s plan to deliver more surgical capacity across Kent and Medway and to reduce patient waiting times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with management and other health‑care professionals to deliver high‑quality care.
  • Supervise, support and develop junior staff, acting as a role model and mentor.
  • Ensure the day‑to‑day running of the theatres is efficient, with optimal utilisation and high‑standard care.
  • Deputise for Lead Practitioners in their absence.
  • Teach and share skills with colleagues as required.
Qualifications & Experience

We will consider newly qualified ODPs and development practitioners working with Anaesthetics. Successful applicants must be prepared to pass a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check at Enhanced level and to complete the Trust’s corporate induction and 2‑week induction programme.
