The Professional Services - Highway Design team at Derbyshire County Council is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Clerk of Works to assist the delivery of Section 278 and Section 38 construction projects.

As a Clerk of Works, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that highway development works comply with approved designs, regulations and quality standards. You will supervise works on site and liaise with developers, contractors and internal teams to maintain high construction standards across the county.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that highway development works meet technical approvals, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed site records to manage disputes and variations effectively.
  • Work closely with Developers, Contractors, and internal teams to uphold quality standards in the adoption of new highways.
  • Contribute technical expertise to improve construction processes and materials used in highway schemes.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with:

  • Experiencein highway construction, particularly within Section 278 & Section 38 agreements.
