Overview

A Vacancy at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust. To work as an integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team supporting service used (who have a primary diagnosis of Learning Disability, history of offending behaviours, and who may experience additional mental health problems), delivering holistic care and support as part of the Forensic Pathway under the supervision of Registered Nurses.

Apprenticeship Opportunity

If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification relevant to your role. An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.

Responsibilities
  • Uphold the principles of Positive Behaviour Support in all aspects of patient care.
  • Participate in delivery of care plans, treatment programmes and training for service users under the direction of qualified staff.
  • Protect service users from any form of abuse (physical, psychological, financial, sexual or intimidation). Report suspected abuse to the appropriate senior staff.
  • Support service users at reviews, appointments or meetings.
  • Assist in promoting a healthy lifestyle, hygiene routines and general appearance while respecting the service user’s choices and beliefs, promoting dignity, respect and privacy where necessary.
  • Report any untoward occurrences to the appropriate person.
  • Support other staff members with day-to-day duties within your level of competence, providing appropriate training, instructions or skills.
Qualifications

Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject. Experience in working with learning disability, mental health or forensic settings is advantageous.
