Job description

JM Workforce Services are currently working with a well-respected and emerging Children's Social Care provider based in Rochdale to recruit a Children's Senior Support Worker for a Children's home.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Children's Senior Support Worker to lead shifts and ensure the highest standards of care for children in a residential setting. The role involves planning and managing shifts, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children, and providing leadership and support to the care team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, manage, and lead shifts, ensuring children are kept safe and engaged.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care at all times.
  • Be flexible, consistent, reflective, and creative in your engagement with the young people.
  • Sleep overnight at the home as required.
  • Work flexibly, including office hours, early mornings, late nights, regular weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Manage all risks in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the team regarding daily plans.
  • Provide reports and documentation reflecting the progress of the young people using paperless systems.
  • Review the young people's care plans and other associated documentation.
  • Attend staff meetings and proactively develop and improve the service model.
  • Act as an advocate for the young people while using a positive parenting model.
Job Requirements
  • Level 3 / 4 in Residential Childcare (preferred)
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Clean DBS
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development to support the needs of our young people.
  • Clear passion and desire to support children and young people.

Full-time, permanent

Pay: £12.65 - £14.50 p / h

Expected hours: 40 hours per week plus sleeps

Schedule: Day shift, Night shift, Overtime

Experience: Residential Childcare – 1 year (preferred)

Licence / Certification: Driving Licence (essential), Level 3 / 4 Residential Childcare or Equivalent (preferred)
