Job Description

This is a 12-month fixed term post to cover maternity leave till 31/01/2027, and/or it could be an excellent secondment opportunity for current Catch22 senior practitioners who would like to develop their experience and knowledge within another Catch22 service.

This exciting role has responsibility for contributing to the strategic development, and operational management, of Catch22 Surrey Young People's Substance Use Service (SYPSUS). This is a county‑wide specialist treatment service, offering; one-to-one support to young people and their families, a 24‑hour helpline, counselling, and pharmacological support, as part of a tailored recovery approach for young people aged 11 to 25‑years‑old.

Your day-to-day tasks will be:
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that meet all targets, standards and KPIs, and taking prompt action to address any areas of underperformance.
  • Recruiting, managing, motivating, coaching and developing a staff team, including carrying out annual appraisals and regular supervision meetings.
  • Ensuring that all safeguarding processes are followed, and that staff are clear that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
  • Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Strategic Partners, Commissioners, and Government Agencies, to promote Catch22, and seeking opportunities to collaborate.
  • Making sure that the diverse needs and aspirations of all groups of service users are considered in service planning and delivery.
  • Guaranteeing young people, parents/carers/families have ease of access to a range of support mechanisms and services.

This post will involve travel across the country, and occasional evening and weekend working.

Qualifications
Essential qualifications
  • NVQ3 Health & Social Care or equivalent / appropriate qualification including relevant professional qualifications in substance misuse, youth work studies, counselling qualification / criminal justice.
Desirable
  • Specialist knowledge of Alcohol/Substance misuse.
  • Specialist knowledge in substance misuse assessment and interventions and skills, including CBT, MI, ITEP.
  • NVQ3 or equivalent in leadership /management.
Experience
  • Supervising and line management of staff in the delivery of substance misuse treatment and working with young people and families to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Design and delivery of training, presentations and activities to individuals, groups and other professionals.
  • Effective working in a multiagency environment to support and safeguard young people.
  • Experience of working with young people and families, with substance misuse and associated complex needs.
Additional Information

Salary: £32,620
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week
Contract: 12 months Fixed-term
Flexibility: Opportunities for flexible homeworking available (main office is in Leatherhead)

This role requires an up to date driving licence, access to a vehicle, MOT and business insurance. You may be required to work out of hours, including evenings and weekends where necessary, in addition to travel around Surrey on a daily basis, and occasional travel around the UK. Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check required.
