A leading social enterprise in Wakefield seeks a Senior SUMH Nurse to make a difference in the lives of individuals facing challenges with substance use. The ideal candidate will be a qualified nurse, skilled in mental health advocacy and community engagement. This role involves developing mental health knowledge and links between community teams and external partners, supporting case advocacy or incident escalation with partner agencies after liaising with the Principal Clinical Psychologist, attending complex case meetings to discuss young people and adult clients with complex needs, and linking with partner agencies to advocate for those clients and foster standards of care.
You will need to be a qualified nurse registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council. As an employee you will have access to RCNi to assist with revalidation, indemnity insurance and support and supervision from the nurse manager and clinical lead. Ideally, the right candidate will have Substance Use Knowledge and experience of working with Adults or Young People in a mental health setting. You should enjoy talking to people with different needs and possess empathy, understanding and patience. Driving is essential to be eligible to apply for this role.
