Job description

Our client is a Local Authority in Essex that require just 1 day per week office presence.

They are offering a minimum 6 month contract in their Strategic Planning Team; the rate will be at least £50/hr (umbrella).

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead and contribute to the development of planning policy documents, including the emerging Local Plan and Supplementary Planning Documents.
  • Undertake research, surveys, and monitoring activities to support evidence-based policy development.
  • Represent the Council in cross-boundary and partnership working.
  • Prepare briefs for consultants and oversee delivery of commissioned work.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, developers, and landowners to inform policy development.
  • Prepare and present evidence for committee meetings and public examinations.

Given the nature of this role we need a candidate with previous experience of Local Plan development. You will previously have gained this experience in a Local Authority setting. It is essential that you are able to effectively manage complex projects and engage with stakeholders.
