Qualifications

  • Experience in a full range of ultrasound examinations including Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
  • Ability to teach and assess student Sonographers.
  • Must have recent experience in a relevant clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out a range of ultrasound examinations to agreed protocols.
  • Provide written reports for scan findings and communicate results to patients and referrers.
  • Supervise Student Sonographers and contribute to departmental audits.

Skills

Independently managing patient caseloads
Providing diagnostic ultrasound services
Teaching and assessing student Sonographers
Synthesizing clinical history and scan findings

Education

DMU or Pg Certificate or Diploma in medical ultrasound or equivalent
HCPC Registered Radiographer
Clinical image reporting qualification

Radiology Systems such as CRIS, Viewpoint, PACS
