Job Title: Senior Social Worker – Children in Care Team

Are you ready for an exciting challenge as a Senior Social Worker within Children in Care? This ongoing part-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact on young lives. The position combines professional fulfilment with personal growth.

What you will do
  • Manage complex cases involving children in care, including those involved in care proceedings.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of children’s needs and risks, develop and implement care plans, and ensure these plans are reviewed and updated regularly.
  • Build positive relationships with children in care, their families, and foster carers, providing essential support and guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, agencies (such as schools, healthcare providers, and legal services), and community resources to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting the child’s needs.
  • Offer support, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced social workers, including those undertaking their ASYE year.
  • Prepare reports, attend court hearings, and represent the local authority’s views on care planning and permanency planning.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice guidelines, ensuring the team’s work reflects these standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all work undertaken in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Lead safeguarding initiatives, identifying potential risks and taking appropriate measures to protect children from harm.
