A local government organization in Merthyr Tydfil seeks an experienced Senior Social Worker to supervise social workers and manage complex cases. The role involves safeguarding duties, ensuring proper support for children and families in need, and developing team skills. Candidates must provide evidence of essential qualifications, and the ability to speak Welsh is desirable. The Family Support Team carries out statutory safeguarding duties, and the senior social worker’s role is essential in supervising and supporting the social workers within the team to ensure that statutory duties are carried out and that children who are subject to safeguarding and CLA procedures and their families have appropriate planning and support to promote their welfare. The senior social worker also holds some complex cases and contributes to the development of the skills and knowledge of the team on a day-to-day basis.
You will be required to provide evidence of all qualifications specified as essential.
Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
