Job description

This Senior Site Manager role offers the chance to take full ownership of a high‑profile, project‑based build in Cambridge, working for my client at the forefront of Tier 1 construction delivery. You'll be trusted to lead from the front, influence outcomes on site, and play a pivotal role in delivering complex projects that genuinely make an impact.

You'll be central to ensuring the successful delivery of a major scheme, balancing programme, quality and cost while embedding a culture of safety, collaboration and continuous improvement. This is a role where your experience is valued, your judgement is trusted, and your ability to coordinate teams, subcontractors and stakeholders will directly shape the success of the project.

In this position, you'll manage site operations end‑to‑end, using your technical knowledge to bring drawings and plans to life while maintaining my client’s high standards of delivery. You'll have the opportunity to lead direct labour, coordinate multiple trade packages, manage internal works, and drive performance across the supply chain, all while acting as a key point of contact for the wider project team and customers. There's also scope to influence best practice, contribute to future projects, and support continuous improvement across the business.

This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys leading complex builds, thrives in a structured yet progressive environment, and takes pride in delivering quality projects safely and efficiently. If you're comfortable managing internal packages, working collaboratively with project teams, and operating within a strong governance framework, this role offers the platform to do exactly that on major schemes.

Here’s a snapshot of what you’ll gain in return:

  • The opportunity to work on large‑scale, high‑value projects across sectors such as education, healthcare, life sciences, leisure and residential
  • A project‑based role in Cambridge with flexibility for occasional remote working
  • A safe, inclusive and supportive working environment where development and progression are actively encouraged
  • The backing of a highly established Tier 1 contractor with a strong reputation for quality and delivery
  • Salary of £55K to £65K, depending on experience

My client is widely recognised as one of the UK’s most successful Tier 1 contractors, known for delivering outstanding results across both public and private sector projects. They are proud of their people‑first culture, their Investors in People Platinum status, and their commitment to creating an environment where teams collaborate, challenge each other positively, and are genuinely listened to. Joining as Senior Site Manager means becoming part of a business that values professionalism, integrity and long‑term development.
