Job summary

A leading engineering and construction firm is seeking a Senior SHES Advisor to implement and manage SHES systems and offer support across projects. The role involves advising on health and safety responsibilities, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a SHES advisory role, knowledge of ISO requirements, and a strong background in civil engineering or construction. Qualifications

  • Experience in a SHES advisor or similar position.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and support Managers and Supervisors on Health & Safety responsibilities.
  • Ensure all personnel are aware of their statutory duties.
  • Support teams to comply with SHESQ Plans.
  • Conduct accident/incident investigations.
  • Manage SHESQ related data for continuous improvement.

Skills

Proven experience in SHES advisory
Man management
Civil engineering and/or construction experience
NEBOSH qualification
MS package knowledge
Understanding of ISO 9001, 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001

The Senior SHES Advisor will assist the SHES Management in the implementation of Group SHES Management Systems and provide SHES advice and support to employees across the project.

A day in the life of a Murphy SHES Advisor
  • Advise and support Managers and Supervisors to discharge their Health & Safety responsibilities towards employees as defined by Legislation and Company procedure
  • Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required
  • Support management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the SHESQ Plans.
  • Carry out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences
  • Manage and collate the data on SHESQ related issues to find areas for continuous improvement through trends and data analysis
  • Support and manage the audit programme; carry out audits when required
  • Participate in working groups / forums as required
  • Participate in the work of committees and joint consultations affecting the workforce as required
  • Monitoring of equipment

  • Experience in civil engineering and/or construction
  • SHES Membership i.e. NEBOSH qualified
  • MS package knowledge
