Job description
Job Summary

The Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) is looking for a dedicated individual to join the team as a Senior Secretary. This is a role where your work truly supports patients, families, and clinicians at every stage of their journey. You’ll provide essential administrative and secretarial support to the OPMHS Consultant Psychiatrist and Memory Clinic, helping to keep the service running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll also play an important part in supporting the wider Administrative Team, offering guidance and supervision when the Personal Secretary is away.

Main duties of the job

The role is varied, purposeful, and central to the patient experience. Your responsibilities will span the full cycle of medical secretarial work – from arranging first appointments and managing clinical diaries, to preparing patient reports, coordinating home visits and transport, and managing prescriptions. Each day brings something different, and you’ll have the autonomy to organise your workload and keep things moving.
